This edition has been heavily revised and improved by one Jacob Christopher Schnebbelie. The title page notes that Schnebbelie was a known culinary in Bath and London. This work was originally written by W A Henderson, 'many years eminent in the culinary profession&apos. With extensive recipes on soups, broths and many more core meals in nineteenth century society. Undated, dated using the British library's record of c1840. With a frontispiece, engraved title page, seven plates on carving and four plates on courses. An uncommon work, which provides an insightful guide to nineteenth century housekeeping. There are chapters on table setting, managing the kitchen, fruit garden, preserving, pickling and much more. A truly comprehensive guide. In a full calf binding. Rebacked, with the original spine laid down. Externally, generally smart with a few light marks and patches of rubbing to the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned. Gatherings 2S-2Z are cancels, which means the paper holds a slightly different appearance. Occasional scattered spots to pages. Very Good .
